Game On! Sinte Gleska University Takes Top Parade Honors with Tetris Float

Sinte Gleska University took First Place in the Community/Organization division at the recent Todd County School District Homecoming parade held on September 17, 2026. The award-winning entry featured Miss 2026 SGU Wikoskalaka, Rachel Janis, waving to spectators while taking a quick break from "playing a game of Tetris" on the float. A true collaborative effort, the float was brought to life by SGU students, staff, and faculty. The initial concept was sparked by the SGU Student Association and the Academic Counseling department, with the SGU Maintenance department building the Tetris game and driving the float, while the Media department printed the graphics. #GO SGU!

Those who attended the Todd County School District Homecoming parade on September 17, 2026, were treated to an impressive assortment of loot, with floats tossing out everything from candy and T-shirts to backpacks. Sinte Gleska University also joined the festivities, throwing candy to the crowd and taking home First Place in the "Community/Organization" division.

Bryan Waukazoo, Sinte Gleska University's Facilities & Maintenance Director/Security Director, attaches a poster to the Tetris gaming machine which was the feature of the float entered into the Todd County School District Homecoming parade, held on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The Tetris machine was made by the SGU Maintenance Department, with the graphics printed by the SGU Media Department. The idea was crafted by the SGU Student Association and SGU Counseling Department. The SGU community of students, staff, and faculty helped the creation come to life.

Sinte Gleska University entered a float in Todd County High School's Homecoming parade on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Students, staff, and faculty prepared the float on the Antelope Lake Campus. SGU was pleased to learn that it took First Place in the Community/Organization division. #GO SGU!
