GREAT PLAINS ART INSTITUTE

Looking for a path to a career in art? We can help guide you.

GPAI at SGU Mission Statement:

We offer both mainstream and Native American art studies from a bi-cultural viewpoint to provide an educational opportunity for the Sicangu Lakota Oyate and members of the surrounding community. Public engagement is underpinned as we prepare students with a background in art history, theory, and practice. We support students in developing the necessary skills for pursuing the arts as a livelihood on the Rosebud or elsewhere.

GPAI at SGU Vision Statement:

Our art institute envisions a vibrant and bi-cultural learning community where students are supported in their pursuit of artistic excellence and cultural context. Whether pursuing a full degree or fulfilling personal interests, our educational courses and programs are designed to support emerging artists from the Sicangu Lakota Oyate and members of the surrounding community.
