About the Role
The SGU Technology & Database Assistant (T&D) Assistant's responsibilities include accessioning, processing and cataloging museum and archival materials. This position will update and maintain all Heritage Center technology applications/ databases/electronics.
Requirements
Update and maintain the computer applications and all other technology-based needs for the Heritage Center.
Back-up and maintain hard copies of archives and museum records for inventory and security purposes.
Identify search aide for information and documentation.
Work with staff to develop digitization program sensitive to our collections' requirements.
Assist other staff and volunteers in accessioning, cataloging, researching, storing, and conserving materials.
Manager social media and work with SGU website requirements.
Provide referral services to the Center's collections.
Assist with processing and maintaining media materials such as audiotapes, video and photographs.
Work with other staff on documenting Sicangu culture, community traditions and recording oral histories.
Responsible for planning audio/visual media technology for museum exhibits.
Assist with the general public and public relations activities.
Keep current in areas of expertise and share this knowledge with center staff through professional development.
Work with other staff members on support services and special projects.
Perform other related duties as assigned for the benefit of the Sicangu Heritage Center and Sinte Gleska University.
