About the Role
A cook assistant supports chefs in food preparation, kitchen organization, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in a professional kitchen.
Requirements
Will be responsible in assisting with the daily operations of the kitchen.
Wil be responsible in assisting with cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and eating area after each meal.
Will be responsible for assisting with food preparation and work together with the Head Cook to ensure lunch is prepared and ready on a daily basis.
Will ensure there is strict adherence to hygiene protocols.
Will ensure the kitchen is always kept in a clean orderly manner to include; garbage removal, washing dishes and clearing refrigerators, freezers, storage rooms, sweeping, mopping floors and wiping down kitchen walls.
Will complete a deep cleaning every quarter and comply with the Cleaning Checkout.
Assist the cook with the preparation of meal ingredients, which include washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry-a nd meat.
Will be responsible in assisting with updated inventory on food and kitchen supplies.
Will be required to attend meetings and trainings.
Will be required to assist with cooking duties during events or activities when assigned.
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Will be required to follow all SGU Policies and Procedures. 13)Will be required to follow the chain of command.
Must have a cell phone or a means for communication purposes.
Will assist with other job tasks as a floater in the departments of security, transportation, custodial and maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
