ATTENTION:
SGU's campus will only be open this fall to students who have been vaccinated. This means that unvaccinated students will only have the option to take classes that are "fully online" (of which there are over 50 available), will not be allowed on campus for student services, and will participate in registration on Monday, Aug 23 via phone. We know that vaccination is the most important thing we can do to protect our community and we encourage every student to take this step.

Since in-person registration will be closed to unvaccinated students, we will be setting up a "phone registration" for "online-only students" on Monday, Aug 23. More details are forthcoming.

Additionally, the campus will only be open to vaccinated students for the semester. This means that some student services will not be available (student lounge, library, etc) and others will have to accessed via phone or email (registrar, admissions, financial aid, etc).

N O T I C E

The Chairperson of the Sinte Gleska University Board of Regents hereby provides notice to seek nominations of candidacy for one (1) appointment to fill the unexpired term (2023) for one at-large Regent for the Region 3 district (Antelope, Ring Thunder, Horse Creek, and Swift Bear Communities).  Qualifications to serve on the Sinte Gleska University Board of Regents according to Article Three, Section Two:  General Eligibility Requirements:

Must be an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, 18 years or older;
Alumni of Sinte Gleska University at the BA or MA degree level preferred;
Must be fiscally responsible in terms of financial debts from Sinte Gleska University;
Must be dedicated to and believe in the concept of tribal colleges/universities;
May not have been involved or currently involved as a plaintiff in litigation.
Bi-lingual or bi-cultural knowledge preferred;
Leadership and work experience in the community or Tribe are preferred;
Cannot have been removed from any RST Board;
Not employed in any organization or privately-owned business that is in competition with Sinte Gleska University;

Must satisfy all other requirements of these By-laws to be seated as an At-large member.

Petitions will be available beginning Monday, August 2, 2021, from the Board Secretary’s Office at the Sinte Gleska University Administration Building (Board of Regents Office), Mission South Dakota. Deadline to return petitions is 5:00 p.m. (COB), Thursday, August 19, 2021.

Article Three, Section 6: Elder Regent: The Elder Regent representing the elders of the Sicangu Oyate must meet the general eligibility requirements set forth in Section Two of this Article and must at the time of appointment be considered a Winucala and Wicachala. The Elder Regent shall be appointed for life and shall serve until a successor is seated.
