SINTE GLESKA UNIVERSITY
HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT - BA
** PERSONAL PORTFOLIO **
Including BA Mission Statement tied to Outcome Goals
As part of your preparation for becoming a professional human services helper, you will compile a Personal Portfolio representing the best Products you have created during you tenure as a SGU student. This will be an accumulation project, drawing both from class and personal resources.
The purpose of the Portfolio is to provide an illustration of your growth and achievements while becoming a Human Services professional. Of course, some Products will be intangible (such as increased self-esteem and reliance); others will be concrete representations of achievements in each curriculum goal area. The Personal Portfolio will be a major part of HS 460, Capstone Course. The Portfolio will also be a valuable resource for you professional use, such as job applications and interviews.
One essential Portfolio requirement is that it must be organized around the Human Services B.A. Mission Statement. The five Outcome Goals are excerpted directly from this Mission Statement. Then, each goal corresponds to representative Products. A detailed list of these Goals and Products is attached. It is suggested that you may want to keep the Products in a notebook or file box. Your HS 460 instructor will give you guidance in the final compilation.
