SGU VITA has had to close during this crisis, and may not reopen, depending on when it is safe. The IRS has extended the filing season to July 15, 2020 for 2019 returns.
The IRS is also coordinating the Economic Impact Payments (EIP) utilizing information from your 2019, or 2018 return. So if you filed a return in 2018 or 2019, you may not have to do anything. You can check the status of your EIP on the IRS portal, similar to "where's my refund." If you didn't have to file because you received SS or RR retirement benefits, or VA or SSI, the agencies are coordinating with the IRS and using your benefit information for your EIP. For all other "NON-FILERS", the IRS portal will help you register for your EIP. The IRS news release gives more specific information. Maureece Heinert SGU VITA Site Coordinator
