PELL GRANT
| Home | Financial Aid |
The Pell Grant is a federal program which provides funds to students enrolled in an eligible program of study at an approved post-secondary institution. This is gift aid and does not have to be repaid. The Pell Grant will serve as the "foundation" of financial aid for the majority of students at Lower Brule Community College.
Eligibility is governed by the most recent federal regulations. Students who have already earned a four-year degree are not eligible for a Pell Grant award. Eligibility is determined by a standard formula which ensures that each student is treated equally.
The amount of the Award is based on (1) student eligibility as determined by the Pell Grant formula, (2) the cost of education at Lower Brule Community College, (3) student enrollment status (full-time, 3/4 or 1/2 time), (4) the level of federal funding, and (5) SAI (Student Aid Index).
Application is made online by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
