Lower Brule Community College uses the following admission guidelines: Any applicant who has earned a high school diploma or a GED (General Equivalency Diploma) certificate may be accepted for admission. All applicants are required to submit a copy of their high school diploma/transcript or GED certificate. All Indian students are required to submit an Abstract of Census or enrollment record to be obtained through the student's home BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) agency office.

Under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, P.L. 93-380 students have certain rights to privacy and protection of information.

Students have the right to inspect their records upon reasonable request to the College official holding these records. The student has the right to withhold written consent for the release of his/her records.

Lower Brule Community College has a policy of non-discrimination in its employment and admissions practices. The College does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, physical disability or any other extraneous consideration.

Any person wishing to be admitted to the College must fill out an application and other forms as required by the College. Students wishing to transfer to the College from another institution must submit an official transcript of all post high school academic records at the time of application.
